I believe that counseling is a collaborative journey toward healing and growth. As a counselor with backgrounds in both nursing and mental health, I work to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can develop the tools and insights needed for personal transformation. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, couples, and individuals from minority and immigrant backgrounds, helping them navigate life transitions and emotional challenges.
My approach combines evidence-based practices with compassionate, culturally-informed care. I draw on therapeutic modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients address anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Through art therapy and other creative approaches, I offer additional pathways for self-expression and deeper reflection. My nursing background brings a unique holistic perspective to understanding the connection between physical and emotional health.
I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS), building upon my foundation in nursing to create an integrated approach to mental health care. My experience working with diverse populations has deepened my understanding of how cultural background and personal history shape our journey toward healing.
Outside of the therapy room, I find great delight in watching and playing sports, creating art, and exploring new places with my husband. Whether hiking in nature or pursuing creative projects, I value opportunities to recharge and connect with the world around me. These experiences inform my belief in the importance of whole-person wellness.
