How I work

Life is a journey, and we often need someone to help us along the way. As a therapist, it is my privilege and honor to act in different roles – helping you grow and heal, being a companion during difficult times, and helping you remove obstacles in your path. With my background in education, I have almost a decade of experience working with individuals and families dealing with transitions, divorce, blended families, trauma, addiction, anxiety, and depression. I am also experienced in helping couples process relational concerns and explore new life stages, and have completed extensive training in Emotionally Focused Couples’ Therapy (EFT).

Having lived internationally for many years, I am passionate about issues of reverse culture shock and cross-cultural hurdles. My international experiences have taught me how to integrate and synthesize diverse views and beliefs. I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches, including attachment theory, family systems theory, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy, to help you wherever you are in your story.

When I am not in the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my children on the playground, reading a book with a good cup of coffee, playing board games, hiking, and practicing martial arts.
