Workshops and speaking

Talks and workshops on emotional and relational health

We speak to churches, schools, nonprofits, and organizations on almost any topic that touches how people feel, cope, and relate. In person or virtual, from a single talk to a retreat.

In a fellowship hall, a high school auditorium, or a conference room

A school faculty in August needs something different from a couples' retreat or a parent night. So before we plan a talk, we ask who'll be in the room and what they're carrying. Then we build it for them: practical, honest, and sized to the time you have.

What we speak on

Almost anything in emotional and relational health. Here's where hosts usually start:

Couples

Marriage seminars and retreats: how couples work through conflict, stay close in busy seasons, and keep choosing each other.

Parents and families

Parenting talks and parent nights for every stage, from the sleepless first year to the teenager with a phone and a closed door.

Helping professionals and caregivers

For pastors, teachers, counselors, nurses, and volunteers who carry other people's hard stories: stress, compassion fatigue (the exhaustion of caring hard for a long time), and vicarious trauma (the toll of absorbing what others have been through). Plus when and how to refer someone for more help.

On request

Anxiety, grief, body image, the stress of exam season: if your people are living with it, we can likely build a talk around it, for adults or for students.

Four ways to bring us in

Keynote or talk. One focused session for a conference, a gathering, or a parent night.

Half-day workshop. Time to teach, practice, and answer questions.

Full-day workshop. Room to go deep on one topic, or to cover a few.

Retreat. Time away for a group to rest, reflect, and do real work together, like a marriage retreat or a staff retreat.

Talks and workshops can also be virtual.

Who you'll hear from

Every talk comes from a clinician on our team. They spend their weeks with individuals, couples, families, and kids, so what they teach comes from what they see working in real lives. Behind each of them is the same training and ongoing consultation that shapes all our clinical work. We'll suggest the speaker whose experience matches your topic and your group.

Good to know

Where. In person, wherever you are. We give virtual talks, too.

When. A couple of months' notice gives us time to prepare well. If your date is sooner, ask anyway.

Fees. They depend on the format and any travel, and we'll include them in our reply.

What happens after you reach out

1

A reply from us. Within five business days, we'll email you from speaking@mcclerrengroup.com with any questions about your group, your date, and your goals.

2

A plan for your event. We'll suggest a topic, a format, and the speaker whose experience matches it, with the fee and any travel costs. If it would help, we'll set up a short call to talk it through.

3

A talk shaped for your people. Once the details are set, your speaker builds the talk around who'll be in the room and what you hope they leave with.

Questions hosts ask

Can you speak on a topic that isn't listed here?

Yes. Tell us what your people are facing in the form above. If it touches emotional or relational health, we can likely build a talk around it. If it's outside what we know well, we'll say so.

Can you talk with our staff about stress or burnout?

Yes. Talks on stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue for employees, staff, or volunteers live here, whatever kind of organization you are.
